A year after opening, the Caroline Family Practice community health center has treated hundreds of area residents, most of these patients (approximately 80%) are uninsured and poor. The center is operated by the nonprofit Central Virginia Health Services, which has centers in 14 locations throughout the state and is open to anyone regardless of age, insurance status or income level.
