A recent NPR story highlighted how low-income families try to get by. Reporter Jamie Tarabay visited a Walmart in the Fredericksburg area as an example of how families load up with necessities like groceries and diapers starting at about 11pm on the last day of the month. Most of the supplies need to last the family for the whole month.
What are we doing in the greater Fredericksburg area to address the problems faced by low-income families?
What gaps are there in how we are supporting these families?
What can we do to further improve the quality of life for parents and children in low-income families?
