What Limitations, Gaps Do You Experience in Health Care?

This personal story from Virginia Health and Human Resources Secretary Dr. William Hazel highlights the many challenges to obtaining quality health care today.  For those without insurance, there often are many other difficulties that must be overcome in order to receive health care.

What challenges have you or your family members faced in obtaining quality health care here in the greater Fredericksburg region?

Is health care affordable, or too expensive?
How accessible is good quality care?  What about dental care?
Is transportation an issue in receiving care?
What could be done differently to improve our community’s health care coverage, and our overall health?

In my experience, health care could definitely be more affordable. I would also like to see the entire process become much less bureaucratic.

i believe quality healthcare is affordable. i have no issues with the way healthcare is. i believe that healthcare is one way that makes people work hard for good jobs. you know if you want good healthcare that you need to work hard. there is no problem with that.

I definitely think healthcare could be more affordable. I work hard and have health insurance through my job, but still find it tough to afford medical and especially prescription costs. Also, I think affordable dental care is another big issue that is often overlooked.
