Participants rated goals using the following response categories: top priority, important priority but not top priority, less important as a priority, not a priority or no response.
Top priorities in the area of INCOME so far to date include:
- Increased incomes for working families (48.2%)
- More employment opportunities (75.9%)
- Reduction in unemployment rate (74.1%)
- Reduction in number of community members living in poverty (68.2%)
- Affordable housing for all community members (54.1%)
- Availability of crises services for individuals unable to meet basic needs such as food, heat/air and shelter (62.9%)
- Improvement in financial skills of community (for example, money management skills, education about scams, etc.) (47.6%)
- Improvement in food security (reduction in hunger) in community (57.1%)
- Reduction in number of homeless persons in community (55.3%)
- Increased access for employment for senior citizens (52.4%)
- Increased affordable healthcare for senior citizens (54.7%)
- Increased transportation options to get to employment opportunities (46.5%)
- Increased access to affordable and high quality childcare (47.6%)
- Increased access to workforce training and job skill development (47.1%)
- Increased reintegration of ex-offenders back into community (39.4%)
- Increased employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities (50%)
- Job training for individuals with disabilities (47.1%)
- Affordable housing options with accessibility for disabled individuals (44.7%)

I think a big reason why people have financial issues is because they were never educated about how to properly manage their money, write a budget, use a credit card, have a bank account, etc. I think it's so important for local schools to start teaching children the importance of managing money so they will have the skills they need to prevent finacial issues as adults.
